"The More I Seek You" to be sung at the Spring Retreat

Brenda has chosen “The More I Seek You” to be sung at the Spring Retreat, just incase you all do not know it, here is a YouTube and song lyrics.

The More I Seek You

[Verse]
The more I seek You
The more I find You
The more I find You
The more I love You

[Chorus]
I wanna sit at Your feet
Drink from the cup in Your hand
Lay back against You and breathe
Feel Your heartbeat
This love is so deep
It's more than I can stand
I melt in Your peace
It's overwhelming

[Verse]
The more I seek You
The more I find You
The more I find You
The more I love You

[Chorus]
I wanna sit at Your feet
Drink from the cup in Your hand
Lay back against You and breathe
Feel Your heartbeat
This love is so deep
It's more than I can stand
I melt in Your peace
It's overwhelming
I wanna sit at Your feet
Drink from the cup in Your hand
Lay back against You and breathe
Feel Your heartbeat
This love is so deep
It's more than I can stand
I melt in Your peace
It's overwhelming
[Interlude]
Oh, Your love is overwhelming me
And oh my Lord, Your love is overwhelming me
Over me

[Chorus]
I wanna sit at Your feet
Drink from the cup in Your hand
Lay back against You and breathe
Feel Your heartbeat
This love is so deep
It's more than I can stand
I melt in Your peace

Summer update and information from Triennial, July 5, 2022

July 5, 2022

My Dear Sisters in Christ,

"Come to the Table", Triennial 2022, has come and gone.  It was an amazing and spirit-filled event with inspirational speakers including our dear Chaplain, the Rev'd Janet Echols.  Though you may not have been able to attend, you will be able to experience and learn from the teachings through the National website on a link to YouTube.  I strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity.  In addition to wonderful teachings, we also experienced informative workshops and attended to some business.  First and foremost, we have a new National President Nancy Severin from Colorado alone with 14 new Council members (information about them is available on the National website).  Secondly seven changes to the Bylaws were voted.  Six of them were to correct grammatical errors or clarify understandings.  One Bylaw change struck the reference to "the General Convention" which allows for more flexibility in the scheduling of the DOK Triennial Meeting.  All changes passed.  A motion from the National Council was made, and seconded, to increase annual dues from $40 - $50 effective September 1, 2022  Following a great deal of discussion, the motion carried.  If you wish to avoid this increase for this year, I suggest you pay your dues prior to September 1st.  If there is a financial constraint and you are having trouble paying your dues, financial assistance is available by contracting your Chapter President.  DAL’s should contact the Assembly President.

Should you have further questions or concerns regarding Triennial I am more than happy to hear from you.

I pray you all are enjoying a restful summer break despite the heat.  But, it won't be long until we all gather again as an Assembly.  Our Fall Assembly is September 17th at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Charleston,  Our speaker is the Rev'd Dr. Sandi Kerner who is presently servicing as the Director of the Prayer Center at Camp St. Christopher.  I look forward to greeting you all.

Other dates you can add to your calendar:

October 3-7, Province IV Retreat at Kanuga Camp and conference Center

March 24-26, 2023, SC Spring Retreat, Camp St. Christopher

Blessing to you all FHS,

Kester Heaton, President

Cards made at Spring Assembly Delivered to Haiti

I am so excited to share a video that our partner priest, Pere Pierre, took when he distributed the Prayer Cards that we made at the Spring Retreat and sent to Haiti.  Please confirm that you can view it.

As always, it takes time for things to get to Haiti but Praise God this happened!   It is Pere Pierre who is speaking to the Daughters of St Sauveur and he is explaining to them about the Prayer Cards and that he will translate each card for them.  Thank you so much for giving this gift to our Sisters in Haiti.  Soon I will send another video from the distribution of Prayer Cards to the other chapter of our ministry sites at St Esprit Mission in Cavaillon, Haiti.  I hope you can find a way to share this with those who attended the Spring Retreat.

Many blessings,

FHS ~

Prayer Litany for Ukraine

Prayer Litany for Ukraine

Most gracious God, Creator of all things, Judge of all people, hear our prayers which we offer before you for our kindred, that the light of justice and peace might shine brighter and more steadily throughout our world.

We pray for the leaders of Ukraine, that, just as you assured Hezekiah that you would turn back the army of the Assyrians from the gates of Jerusalem, so also might you assure them, that they might put their trust in you. Lord in your mercy,

Hear our prayer.

We pray for the soldiers of Ukraine, that, just as you led the tiny army of Gideon against the overwhelming forces of the Midianites, so also might you lead them, that they might follow you in paths of wisdom, courage, and might. Lord, in your mercy,

Hear our prayer.

We pray for refugees from Ukraine, that, just as you warned Mary and Joseph to flee from the wrath of Herod and brought them to safety in Egypt, so also might you deliver them from danger, violence, and oppression. Lord, in your mercy,

Hear our prayer.

We pray for the civilians of Ukraine who have stayed behind to defend their homes, that, just as in the days of Nehemiah the people stood, some to defend their kin and their homes while others rebuilt their walls, so also might you strengthen these who stand, that they might remember your great and awesome power. Lord, in your mercy,

Hear our prayer.

We pray for those caught in the path of warfare, who are able neither to fight nor to flee, that just as you kept safe your servant Mephibosheth in the days of Absolom’s rebellion, so also might you shelter them, that they might know you as the rock of their salvation. Lord, in your mercy,

Hear our prayer.

We pray for those who identify Ukraine as their homeland, wherever they now may be, that just as you sent consolation to the exiles in Babylon through the voice of your prophet Ezekiel, so also might you send them words of comfort, that you might be a sanctuary to them in the countries where they have gone. Lord, in your mercy,

Hear our prayer.

We pray for those for whom the trauma of past conflicts has been renewed, that, just as we trust that your Spirit groans with each of us, interceding for us in our weakness, so also may they experience your loving guidance and protection. Lord, in your mercy,

Hear our prayer.

We pray for the political and economic Leaders of the nations, that just as you heard the groaning of your people in Egypt and sent Moses to them as your aid, so also might you move them to aid your people in Ukraine. Lord, in your mercy,

Hear our prayer.

We pray for aid workers in and around Ukraine, that, as you sent angels to minister to Jesus in the wilderness, so also might they manifest to the people the splendor of your provision and care. Lord, in your mercy,

Hear our prayer.

We pray for journalists in and around Ukraine, that just as you woke Mary, Mary, and Salome, emboldened them in spite of danger to seek out the tomb where Jesus had been laid, and gave them words to tell the good news of his Resurrection, so also might you awaken, embolden, and inspire them to tell the news of this conflict with compelling integrity. Lord, in your mercy,

Hear our prayer.

We pray for the people of Russia, that, just as you empowered Esther to intercede with her ruler on behalf of her people, so also might you empower them to intercede with their government on behalf of their kindred in Ukraine. Lord, in your mercy,

Hear our prayer.

We pray for Russian soldiers, that, as you opened the blinded eyes of the Roman Centurion Longinus to gaze upon the one he had pierced and to turn his heart towards what he could see, so also might you open their eyes to the work they have been driven to do, that they might see and turn toward their Ukrainian kindred. Lord, in your mercy,

Hear our prayer.

We pray for ourselves as we watch and wait and pray, that, as you inspired Aaron and Hur to hold up Moses’ arms in prayer for the Israelites in the day of battle, so also might you inspire us to support one another, that we might be tireless in service and prayer, doing what we can do in this time of trial. Lord, in your mercy,

Hear our prayer.

O Lord our God, accept the fervent prayers of your people; in the multitude of your mercies, look with compassion upon us and all who turn to you for help; for you are gracious, O lover of souls, and to you we give glory, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
